Montana golf is as varied as it is scenic. Many of the courses are in and around the following cities and towns: Billings, Missoula, Bozeman, Great Falls, Kalispell, Big Sky, Lenea, Whitefish and Butte. Here are a few of our favorite

Big Sky Resort is home to an 18-hole scenic par 72 golf course. Designed by Arnold Palmer, this course is 6,500 feet above sea level and winds along the Gallatin River. It is not uncommon to see wildlife while golfing at Big Sky Resort including beaver, deer and moose. After your round of Montana golf, check out the Bunker Bar and Grill. Other amenities include a pro shop with lessons, golf club rentals, a driving range and carts.
The
Reserve at Moonlight Basin is an 18 hole private golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus. It is slated to open in August of 2010. Other amenities include the Clubhouse at the Reserve at Moonlight Basin, the Moonlight Mercantile which includes golf clothing and apparel along with golf balls, gloves and bags. Purchase Moonlight Basin real estate and then this course will be right out your back door.
Yellowstone Golf Club features 7,300 yards of golf on its 18-hole par 72 course. Tom Weiskopf designed the course which opened in 2005. Play a round of golf surrounded by snow covered mountains and pine trees. The Yellowstone Golf Club is part of the private Yellowstone Club and is located adjacent to Big Sky and Yellowstone National Park.
The
Club at Spanish Peaks is home to Spanish Golf Course, one of the most scenic courses in Montana. The 18-hole course is located in Big Sky and is a par 72, 7,200 yard course. Designed by Tom Weiskopf, the Spanish Golf Course presents the golfer with 40 mile views of nearby mountains, wildflowers, and pine forests. Full club members have access to this course along with the clubhouse, dining room, bar and retail pro shop.
Cottonwood Hills Golf Course is located in Bozeman, Montana. They offer premium golf at reasonable prices. Built in 1984, Cottonwood Hills Golf Club is a public facility and includes both an 18-hole course and a Par 3 course. The Executive Par 3 course contains seven par 3s and two par 4s for a total of 9-holes. Its is great for practice. The Championship Course is 18-holes and is par 72.
Bridger Creek Golf Course is an 18-hole course in Bozeman, Montana. It is a par 71 with 6,511 yards from the longest tees. This course is public and was designed by Mack Hunter. Amenities include golf lessons, junior camps and a pro shop.
Missoula Country Club is home to an 18-hole course which is known as being the best manicured course in the entire state of Montana. This course is part of a private country club. Members of other clubs are welcomed to play for a fee. Tee times must be made 7 days in advance. The club offers a pro shop along with club house and dining.
